James Cook serves as Americas Director of Retail Research at JLL, based in Indianapolis. He oversees national retail research production and regularly speaks at events about the future of retail real estate. James was recognized as a top 50 LinkedIn CRE influencer by CREiSUMMIT.

He hosts the "Where We Buy" podcast (ICSC 2020 Gold MAXI award winner) and "Trends & Insights: The Future of Commercial Real Estate" podcast.

With experience dating to 1999, James previously served as National Director of Analytics at Xceligent and U.S. Director of Research at Colliers International.

James actively participates in the ICSC Research Task Force, received the 2017 ICSC Gold Medallion Award, and chaired the 2015 ICSC Research Connections Conference. He has served on multiple ICSC, NAIOP and ULI committees.
